Exercise is a very important thing for dogs and should be incorporated as much as possible in a family's life. With many of us leading such busy lives these days it is getting harder and harder to find the time. Our family has adopted a routine which has been working well for us for the past few months. What we do is aim to go for a 30 minute walk before we cook dinner together. We try to aim to be home and out the doorfor a walk at 5.30pm so that we are back home by 6pm. Obviously this means that we do not regularly eat a roast for dinner but it is a small sacrifice to make in order to have some family bonding time with our child and two staffies as well as getting our daily exercise. We all love the lesiurely time together and it makes the dogs very happy.
The other thing we do to exercise our dogs is to take them to our local dog leash area or park as well as our local dog off leash beach we have on the Gold Coast. The beach would definitely have to be the dogs favourite if they were able to be asked. No matter how many times we frequent the beach they still seem so amazed and excited every time! Whatever way it suits your family to incorporate it, exercise is always an important requirement for a dog to lead a healthy happy life. If you are about to embark on a brand new exercise program for your dog it is a good idea to start slowly just as you should for yourself too! Even dogs can suffer from stress if over exercised. Another thing to remember is to take water for both of you. There are some great water products around now such as fold up water bottles. You can also buy treat packs that are like a bum bag with a zip. The treats can be very handy to bring you dog under control if he gets distracted or agitated during your walk.
